Norvale Collapses

Editor's note: This article was originally published in number 1 of the digital print editions and written by tsun123.

The biggest discovery of the past week has flown largely under the radar. The once wildcard nation of the north has been abandoned with the Kingdom of Norvale departing the map of Athera. Founded by now Lord of Blothera Totum in 343 ACE, it was an intriguing nation under his leadership well known for threatening war daily with various nations without backing up any of these threats.

With the departure of Totum and the appointment of Golden as the new King, it is understood Norvale allied out of then desperation with Morvia in joining the Grand Coalition against Blothera before the stunning news of their merger with Virarith. This merger drew condemnation from friend and foe as Virarith mimicked the annexation role of Blothera who they had strongly condemned in their war for independence from a similar fate.

This move appears to have been the final straw in the camels back in a metaphorical sense as the Kingdom of Norvale was this week found entirely abandoned. Originally claimed by Virarith at huge land cost, the land appears to have been sold as its former occupants and members of Norvale have departed Athera entirely suggesting the merger did not have the sustainability originally hoped for. The castle is now in a state of disrepair and the serious questions have been raised whether this merger was a benefit or hinderance to the new superpower Virarith. We may only wait and see.
